Film

Helen Evans was featured in the award-winning documentary When We Speak, which shares the stories of three women whistleblowers: British intelligence employee Katharine Gun, Hollywood actress Rose McGowan and Oxfam safeguarding lead Helen Evans.

Helen exposed sexual abuse in the aid sector on a global scale. She participated in the film to emphasize the urgent need for stronger safeguards to protect aid recipients and those who speak out. In the documentary, she spoke openly for the first time about the severe backlash she endured, which forced her family to relocate and left her with PTSD.

Directed by Tas Brooker, the film won Best Documentary at the Whistleblowers Summit and Film Festival, was nominated for Best Documentary at the Raindance Film Festival and was longlisted for a BIFA Discovery Award.
